This ruin is in a field between Easter and Wester Earshaig.

The Crooked Road at Earshaig. Last time I was here was when backpacking over the southern Lowther Hills in 1987. One of the few things I can remember is that the road twisted a lot.

Wester Earshaig is a remote location along a minor road west from Beattock, possibly a gamekeeper's home, perhaps not occupied as it was passed on this occasion.
