Britannia Bridge railway station (site), Gwynedd
Opened in 1851 by the Chester and Holyhead Railway, this short-lived station closed in 1858.
View north west towards the eponymous bridge and Holyhead. There were two short, low, parallel platforms on the curve. The ivy-covered wall to the right of the track is probably the remains of the station building, behind which can be seen one of four lions provided with the bridge. The bridge was closed for 18 months after a May 1970 fire, reopening with a single track in January 1972. The road deck above the railway was added in 1980.
