Saltram House and garden is a country estate some 2 miles east of Plymouth. The original Tudor house was altered and greatly expanded with Palladian facades on two occasions by the architect Robert Adam and is considered to be the most impressive country house in Devon. Constructed of stuccoed stone with stucco details to the principal elevations, otherwise local rubble stone with granite dressings under slate roofs. Owned by the National Trust since 1957. The house is listed, grade I, with details at: LinkExternal link. The gardens and parkland are on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, grade II*, with much history and detail at: LinkExternal link
