This picture was taken from the top of the Marquess of Anglesey's Column Llanfairpwllgwyngyll (SH534715), looking into the adjacent square SH5471 which contains the Britannia Road/Railway Bridge linking Anglesey to the Mainland. Designed by Robert Stephenson as a tubular railway bridge it opened in 1850. In 1970 it was severely damaged by a fire started by youths out on a bat hunt! It was rebuilt as a single line railway bridge on a lower deck and an upper deck carrying the A55 Expressway.
