This cricket ground is in the New Forest, although within walking distance of the centre of Lyndhurst.
As can be seen, the pitch is fenced off when not in use, to stop grazing animals disturbing the ground.

It looked more like a hospital to me. I'd bet on a housing estate to replace it, that's nearly universal for any demolished building nowadays.
